Thank you again for a most amazing trail run. Your organization and route planning was top notch. Thank you too to the volunteers who helped, from water tables to medics to cutting the grass and all the admin in the background. I appreciate it greatly. What an adventure. Thank you for the opportunity to do an Ultra of this quality and thank you for the time to be able to complete it. We’re certainly going to advertise and recommend this for next year!

Charmaine Ressell, Roodepoort (60km, 2022)

Thank you! Keep the good job! We enjoyed it!

Angel Aranda, Bloemfontein (10km, 2022)

It was great and well organized. I was in two minds whether to attempt the race, the reason being that it was 20k’s…., well on my watch 21.10k’s and i made it walking and enjoying the beautiful scenery. I had never been in that part of our country and was totally mesmerized at the beauty.  Thank you for putting on the race. There were some hectic challenges, hopefully if I am spared I will return next year.

Joan Matthew, Olifantsfontein (20km, 2022)

Very nice!

Marthie Bronn, Bloemfontein (10km, 2022)

Tobie & Elsje Venter, Vanderbijlpark (10km, 2022)

This was my first 20 km off road walk and want to thank you for a great event. And yes there are always things to do better and I also missed a turn but was talking too much. I enjoyed the race very much and will definitely be back next year.

Wilna Meiring, Olifantsfontein (20km, 2022)

Baie geniet. Sal weer gaan.

Henk van Rooyen, Bloemfontein (“10km”, 2022)

Very nice!

Jorrie Jordaan, Bloemfontein (20km, 2022)

Great event!!! Great people who organized the event. Nice adventure to get a bit lost and to create your own route. As trailrunners, we should all endeavour to familiarise ourselves with the use of a GPS. Great to see your veld in such pristine condition after the abundance of rain. See you next year!

Riaan van Jaarsveld, Bloemfontein (40km, 2022)

Thank you for an event to remember!!  It was a wonderful experience. The only bad thing was the wrong route we took, maybe better indication with boards in the future? But even that added to good memories of the day.  It is a beautiful route and venue. Congratulations and high appreciation for the time, planning and effort put into the day.

Greta Wessels, Kroonstad (10km, 2022)

At one place the markers were not that clear but apart from that, it was a great event. If I have it my way, I would tackle the 40k next year.  Was not that well prepared for it now.

Lukas Herbst, Bloemfontein (20km, 2022)

It was like an amazing race , I loved it.

Susan Steyn, Burgersdorp (20km, 2022)

Thank you so much for hosting a wonderful event! It was a super enjoyable run with pristine nature, tranquility and awesome views. The organization couldn’t have been better!  The race venue was pleasant and we appreciate our beautiful paintings.

Daleen Grobler, Jongensfontein (20km, 2021)

My man wil sommer volgende jaar saam die 10km kom hardloop. Sien uit na volgende jaar. Baie dankie.

Rianette van der Linde, Vierfontein (40km, 2021)

Simply broad smile trail running! I must have passed the Gariep area over thirty times in my life as we travelled from Johannesburg to the coast for our annual holiday. Little did I know what would await me when I entered the Lake Gariep Run. The sunrise over the dam as we headed off on the 40km was spectacular. As the participants only numbered sixteen for this distance, we were soon quite spread-out and I could enjoy the wide open, silent space. Running on the koppies added such a special element. At about 35km, I could see the finish at the guesthouse Driekwartblou in the distance and was slightly disappointed that the organiser may have overstated the distance. Not to be! The route then took a sharp right turn up the hill and more fun was about to begin. The route followed the interesting rocky water course that eventually meandered back to the finish. I see it as a real privilege to be able to run, but more so, to be afforded the opportunity to run on the two working farms – Schalkwykskraal and Gelykfontein. A well organised event that comes highly recommended.

Lynn Biesheuvel, Sandton (40km, 2021)

We were very glad that we decided to take part. Even though we were very slow, we really enjoyed the whole experience as well as the beautiful views and hospitality. It was very well organised. I think the only part of the race we did not enjoy was getting through the tunnel. Really in all a great experience and hope to do it again in the future. The paintings done by your wife are lovely – very special indeed.
